New Laboratory Proficiency Program available from GOED

GOED has launced the CS-GOED Nutraceutical Oils Laboratory Proficiency Program (LPP), a program which enables laboratories to assess their proficiency in quantifying EPA and DHA in omega-3 oils. The background for this is that discrepancies in testing outcomes between laboratory, suppliers, and customers unfortunately are common, and GOED wants to help close that gap.
Participation in the LPP is deemed crucial by GOED to ascertain the accuracy of EPA and DHA quantification by a laboratory. If deficiencies are identified through LPP results, corrective measures can then be implemented to enhance a lab's proficiency.

Last year, 40 laboratories participated globally, and with the industry's support, this number will continue to rise. Establishing a network of proficient labs will gradually diminish discrepancies in testing outcomes over time.
