Age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) is the most common cause of blindness today. The disease leads to a gradual loss of
sharp vision, making everyday activities increasingly problematic.
ARMD is a disease of the retina, which is the tissue in the human body with the highest concentration of DHA. It has been
shown that people with a regular intake of seafood containing significant amounts of the Omega-3 fatty acid DHA have a lower
risk of developing ARMD than those who do not eat fish.
Scientists believe that DHA can alleviate symptoms in patients with ARMD, and
EPAX 1050 TG is currently being used in two ongoing clinical studies of patients with ARMD.
