EPAX’s primary source of raw materials is crude fish oil from Peruvian fisheries. The Peruvian coastal waters are known to be among the world’s richest marine habitats, and the country is credited with having highly sophisticated governmental fishery surveillance systems. This includes regulation of the minimum size and number of juvenile fish, mesh size, closed seasons, satellite monitoring of the fleet and third-party control of fish landings.

Trygg Pharma AS has acquired 100 percent of the shares in EPAX AS

AALESUND, Norway (Sept. 03, 2010) — Trygg Pharma AS, a company jointly owned by Aker BioMarine ASA, a Norwegian biotechnology company, and Lindsay Goldberg, a New York-based investment fund, has acquired 100 percent of the shares in EPAX AS from Austevoll Seafood ASA. EPAX AS is a world-leading supplier of concentrated, marine-derived omega-3 formulas that target specific health conditions.
